If you follow my recipes, then you probably already know that I love seafood; so it's no surprise that when preparing dinner during the summer months, grilled fish often graces the menu. There is no question that fish is delicious when prepared via the grill, and this goes double for steelhead trout. My simple recipe…

In true Sherita fashion, I always try to recreate some of my favorite dishes at home, and this week it was salmon belly poke bowls. This traditional Hawaiian dish is an affordable and fun way to enjoy sushi while bringing so many other flavors into the mix. A salmon belly poke bowl is easy to…
If you love sushi and Mexican food, you're in for a treat today! Tuna Tartare Tacos are an instant hit with nearly every crowd. I used to think that these tasty treats could be enjoyed only at fancy cocktail parties. But then I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Josh Capon, owner of my favorite NYC seafood spot, Lure Fish Bar, and he totally changed my mind. Chef Capon shared his delicious recipe for these yummy tacos that you can easily replicate in your kitchen.

My new life in California is so different than my routine in New York. Since my recent move to LA LA Land, I have enjoyed taking advantage of the warm weather, radiant sunshine, sandy beaches, and the unfortunate traffic. Driving from place to place, instead of walking has seriously cut into my once active lifestyle. As a result, my step counter has been pinging me non-stop to exercise more. So I had to do something about it.One of the first things I learned from my husband is that the best salmon comes from Alaska. I've listened to numerous stories about of his days as a commercial salmon fisherman and dipnetting experiences back in Anchorage. Getting fresh Alaskan Salmon in the "lower 48" does come at a cost, but it is totally worth it. I found this beautiful piece of fish at Whole Foods to make pan seared Alaskan salmon with fresh dill, lemon, and capers.
It wasn't until my recent trip to Thailand that I gained a genuine appreciation for Thai cuisine. Don't use your run of the mill Pad Thai as a gauge, because let me tell you, it's not an accurate measure of how delicious Thai food can be. The flavors in Thai cooking are very distinctive, and the ingredients typically have many fresh elements. I know the thought of making Thai Shrimp Curry at home can be intimidating (especially with the ingredient list below), but don't fret! This recipe is simple to make, your kitchen may turn into your favorite Thai Restaurant!
No one likes a boring salad, so why not mix it up a bit! I tend to love salads all year long, but summer time is perfect season to enjoy a delicious salad packed with vitamins and nutrients. I also am more active in the summer, so I tend to get hungry often. Salad can be a light snack, or with a little help, it can also be a filling meal.
Fresh roasted fish always transports me to the Mediterranean coast. There is something about this simple preparation that really allows the fish be the star of the dish. Trout is a mild white fish with a light, clean flavor and just a touch of sweetness, perfect for anyone who is not a fish lover. For this recipe, I simply used garlic, parsley and lemon to accent this fish's natural flavor.
Whether you love or hate mussels, it's hard to resist spicy sausage in a finger licking white wine and garlic butter sauce! Mussels are a seafood that I actually grew to enjoy. The chewy texture wasn't initially appealing to me, until I realized I'd only been presented with overcooked versions of this tasty underwater treat . When cooked properly, these little morsels of seafood goodness are perfect as an appetizer or can be deliciously tossed with your favorite seafood pasta. I added turkey sausage to this dish to make it more filling, and the flavors of fennel and spice gave it the extra kick I craved. The broth of a mussel dish can be the best part, so don't forget a loaf of crusty bread to soak it all up when serving.
