Why I Need to Refresh My New Year’s Commitments

Why I Need to Refresh My New Years Commitments | Busywifebusylife.comDo you remember what you said 6 weeks ago? No, seriously! Remember it was right around midnight just after the ball dropped. You vowed to start eating right, taking better care of your body and live a more balanced life. Well, if you don’t remember, I certainly do. Promising to be healthier while “living my best life” – thanks Oprah! So, where am I now? Have I lived up to the commitments – not exactly! But that’s ok, I’m hitting the refresh button on my New Year’s commitments and you can too.

Fage Greek Yogurt 0% with fruit | Busywifebusylife.comSnooze no more, when my alarm goes off in the morning I’m getting up AND heading to the gym. Along with the well-known health benefits, working out in the morning also encourages me to make healthier choices throughout the day. Drinking plenty of water is also a priority. I’ve started filling up half-gallon containers of water and my goal is to drink two of those a day. To make Oprah proud, I am finding time to unplug, unwind and reflect on what truly fulfills me (even if only for 20 mins). The goal is to implement these lifestyle changes into my daily routine.Fage Greek Yogurt 0% with fruit | Busywifebusylife.comI know how important it is to eat healthy, especially when you have a busy schedule as I do. But the truth of the matter is, grabbing the most convenient food like a french fries, chicken nuggets, or anything that comes out of a fast-food window is probably not going further your health in the long run. So, I decided that it was time to rethink snacking.

Fage Greek Yogurt

Instead of being reactionary to my hunger, I started to plan ahead and bring some healthy protein-rich snacks with me during the day. I have been a FAGE Greek yogurt fanatic since I first discovered it years ago. I’d buy the 35.3oz container of 0% yogurt and add it to just about everything. From smoothies to vegetable dips, or as a substitute for sour cream, I couldn’t get enough. But I never found a convenient way to enjoy it on the go.Why I Need to Refresh My New Years Commitments | Busywifebusylife.comFage Greek Yogurt 0% with fruit | Busywifebusylife.comProblem solved, I can now take my favorite yogurt with me during the day. If I’m running late in the morning, the Split Cup fruit varieties are a perfect option for a quick breakfast as well. When I need a snack after a workout, I grab one too! The cherry pomegranate flavor in 0% fat has 110 calories, 13 grams of protein and only 11 grams of sugar, so I have no regrets.

FAGE comes in a Total (whole milk), 2% and 0% variety, each with the delicious and satisfying goodness for whatever lifestyle you lead. So, I am going to lead by example and encourage you to make some healthier choices in your life too. Who’s with me?!
