When the seasons begin to change, the first item of clothing I gravitate toward is denim. Great jeans are versatile, easy to style, and comfortable—or at least should be! Gone are the days when I squirm and wiggle my way into a pair of skinny jeans that holds everything in at the wrong place. This fall I am choosing style and comfort with my denim, and you should too! Read on to see how I styled two fall denim looks; perhaps these will cultivate some fashion inspiration of your own!
If there’s one reason to celebrate this fall, it’s that denim is finally becoming more inclusive. You no longer have to worry about gaping waistlines, because designers have wised up to the fact that women have curves and that we want to flaunt them, not hide them. I have narrow hips and hate to size down to fit them, only to then find that I can’t button up (#frustrating). So I was thrilled to find that these Democracy Jeans fit in all the right places. Plus, as this summer body starts to fade, I know these jeans will still fit through the holidays. Ha!
Dark & Sleek
One key to keeping your denim looking fresh this season? Don’t limit yourself to one color of wash. I tend to rotate dark, medium, and distressed for much of fall. Mix up your shades and go dark for the day with a light color on top to balance the look. My Democracy Denim is the perfect wash to complement my top’s soft pink undertones. Mixing textures like silk and suede with denim will also give your outfit a luxe look. I went monochromatic with this blush silk top and a vegan suede trench. I matched the suede with a black handbag and went with an open-toe bootie—perfect for the start of fall.
Light & Distressed
My second denim look for fall is classic yet contemporary. You can never go wrong with a white blouse and denim, but I went for this criss-cross style with a flattering boatneck neckline a la Meghan Markle. For this chic look, I am wearing Ab Solution Jeggings by Democracy Denim. The front panel of the jeans helps to flatten and smooth your midsection, eliminating that tummy bulge that we all hate! Plus, the panels and stitching in the back are designed to give your booty that lift it needs to keep you looking good coming and going. To achieve a casual but classy light and distressed style, I paired the jeans with classic suede pumps in my favorite color.
